Free Instagram hashtag checker
Type any hashtag. It reads the live recent tab and tells you how fast the tag moves, what gets posted to it, and which tags travel with it. Nothing to install and no sign-up — a live read goes out on your own Instagram session, the same cookie the actor asks for.
What happens to the cookie you paste
It is sent with this one request, used for this one read of Instagram, and dropped when the request ends. It is not stored. There is no database behind this page and no field in the cache that could hold one — what is cached is the measurement: counts, rates and tag names. It is not written to any log: the failure record this tool keeps holds the hashtag and the reason a read failed, and there is no path by which a cookie reaches it. It is not kept in your browser either — the box is cleared after each check and nothing is written to local storage, so closing the tab is enough.
Use an account you are willing to lose. Instagram rate limits and eventually actions accounts it decides are automated, and that is a property of the platform rather than something this tool can avoid. The same warning is on the actor's limits page and it is the same advice for the same reason.
And what it gives back is provided as is and as available, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness or uninterrupted operation. Every number on the result panel — posts per hour, the engagement medians, the companion tags — is one sample of a tab Instagram reorders and truncates without notice, and a stored reading can be up to 6 hours old. Whether it is fit for a decision you are about to make is your judgement, on every check.
Sending a credential to any third party is a decision, and this one is yours to decline: every hashtag under measurements was read already and costs you nothing.
What it gives you
- Posts per hour, and the time span that rate was measured over — the two are only meaningful together.
- How much of the tag is carousels, and how much contains video. Video is the field most people filter wrong.
- Likes and comments as a spread, with how many posts actually reported a count. A post Instagram gave no count for is left out, never counted as zero.
- The tags that appear in the same captions, ranked by how many posts carried them.
It does not return the posts. That is what the actor is for: it writes every post to your own dataset, newest first, and charges $0.0005 per delivered row — on a session cookie of the same shape as the one this page asks for.
A check does not prove your cookie works unless it was the thing that read Instagram. A hashtag already on the measurements page is answered from the stored reading without your cookie leaving this page, so a green panel there says nothing about the session you pasted. The result says which of the two you got, and only a live read tells you the actor will accept that cookie.
